Call settings during holidays
2 min
This guide will help you define your availability in the VIP Plus service while you are on holiday. Always follow your company’s agreed practices regarding availability.
A) You have your work phone with you also during your free time
- You want work calls to be forwarded to a colleague
• Set a holiday announcement message and include the option for customer service.
• Once the announcement is active, the call will be forwarded to your colleague when the caller presses 1: "The person you are trying to reach is on holiday. For work-related matters, press 1. If you want the call to be directed to the person you are trying to reach, press 2." - You do not want to forward calls to anyone – you only want a message to be played
• Set a holiday announcement without the customer service option. See the instruction video (in Finnish)
• Calls will first go to the announcement: "The person you are trying to reach is on holiday / away from work. If you want the call to be directed to the person you are trying to reach, press 2." If the caller presses 2, the call will be forwarded to you. - You want close contacts to bypass the holiday announcement (bypass list)
• Add important contacts to your address book with the type "VIP".
• These contacts can call you directly without hearing the announcement.
B) Your work phone is not with you during your free time
- You want to forward calls to a colleague or the switchboard
• Use call forwarding to direct calls to a colleague or the switchboard. - You do not want to forward or receive any calls at all
• Set your activity to “Vacation”.
• Callers will hear the message: “The person you are trying to reach is on holiday” and will not be given the option to connect the call to you by pressing 2.
• Do not select the activity “holiday message” or “absence message”, as these allow calls to be routed to you by pressing 2.
