Adding external contacts to the VIP Plus service

2 min

With this guide, you can create and manage lists of external contacts in the VIP Plus service.
With external contacts, the administrator can create and maintain contact lists for users who are not part of the VIP Plus service. External contacts define the contact details that can be found in the VIP Plus service's contact directory or that are pre-displayed, for example, in the Contacts view of the mobile app.

If an external contact is saved in the contact lists, the caller's name will be displayed in incoming calls, in addition to their number. The caller’s name will not be shown on a mobile device based on this information unless the user has synchronized contacts to their mobile device. To see the caller's name on a mobile device, the contact’s details must be locally stored in the phone’s own address book.

You can create several lists of external contacts and specify the VIP Plus users who can view the external contacts in those lists. A VIP Plus user can be a member of multiple contact lists.
